Supporting Home Learning in Year 11 Textiles
Homework for Textiles Controlled Assessment will be set each week and can be accessed via https://thomastallis.showmyhomework.co.uk/school/homeworks/calendar_ along with support materials uploaded. Students will use their school email addresses to upload their completed homework to OneDrive, which is a shared online folder that they can access at home and school. We are able to access the student’s folder to track the submitted work.
Controlled Assessment
The Controlled Assessment work is made up of a single Design & Make activity based on tasks set by the AQA exam board.
Students will produce a high quality written A3 portfolio accounting for 58 marks and the product itself, which will account for 32 marks.
The Controlled Assessment folder is marked out of 90 and made of up 4 sections in total. Please see below for the deadlines for each section of the GCSE Controlled Assessment work:

The Written Exam During lessons you will be revising and covering all of the content which covers SECTION A and SECTION B. You will be required to sit a 2 hour exam paper in the Summer which will count for 40% of your overall grade.
Section A The preliminary material will be released on the 1st March. The context of section A this year is: You will be researching and completing a range of activities which looks into this context to best prepare you for the design question in the summer exam. |
